Sony Expects to See Electronics Sales, Professional Equipment Sales Boost

Sony said that the company aims to achieve 30% growth of electronics sales in emerging countries in 2010, according to a November 1, 2010 report by the Nikkei. It is reported that Sony's products, such as TVs and PCs, have been generating profits in these markets. It is estimated that electronic sales of Sony in Brazil and India in particular has reached double-digit growth rate.

Meanwhile, Sony eyes sales increase of business-use equipment by 67% in four years, according to a November 1, 2010 report by the Bloomberg. The company estimates that revenues generated from business-use equipment, such as security cameras and medical-use displays, will reach 500 billion Yens (US$6.2 billion; US$1=80.6 Yens) from 2010 to as early as March 2014, or no later than March 2016.
